A Summer Storm

Description

A Summer Storm

This design was born from a single piece of vintage mouth blown glass.  I came upon a full sheet of Casimir blue glass (production date 1998) in an out of the way glass shop.  The Polish company Casimir was rebranded to Krosno Glass and no longer produces stained glass sheets. The company Krosno (Brilliance in Glass since 1923) does not give up manual production of it’s blown glassware, which is even found on the royal tables of Queen Elizabeth II, the Empress of Japan, and the King of Spain.

Challenge yourself to differentiate the differences between the blues in the water.

When you look at the Casimir blue glass, you’ll find that it has minute “stars” that sparkle and shine.  The Cobalt blue of the Wissmach glass has a deep glow to it, the hand rolled Youghiogheny blue has a beautiful true colour,  and the Youghiogheny “stormy” sky has all the intrigue you can imagine.  Just look at that bolt of pink lightening in the sky!  This truly is a summer storm to seek shelter from.
