Kiss Me in the Roses
Kiss Me in the Roses is my interpretation of “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt, painted during his golden period. Gustav Klimt depicts the couple locked in an intimate embrace against a gold, flat background. The man’s face is bent downward to press a kiss to the woman’s cheek. Her eyes are closed and her face is upturned to receive the man’s kiss. Both figures are blended as they face the golden abyss of perfection. This is a sister panel to The Stoclet Frieze/Tree of Life.
The bronze background has a gold iridescent, as does the center round circles on the flowers. The hair is heavily textured and will capture enough light to create sparkle.
