This beautifully crafted art glass has received more accolades than any other piece I’ve done.

It was designed with my love of swallows.  They first showed up in my life, filling the clay cliffs near my home in British Columbia.  They nested under the eaves of my back door in sunny Manitoba, and now I’m waiting for them to once again find me in Michigan.  They prefer open fields and meadows where insects are abundant, but even though I live in a heavily treed acreage, I’m sure they’ll once more move in close to me.

The glass is a very special “fracture” or “collage” glass.  It’s made by single rolling the molten glass, then tossing smashed glass (blown as fine as a lightbulb) on the still hot surface.

The swallows are a gorgeous rainbow iridescent, deep royal blue, and there are 12 German faceted and smooth gems draped down through the scene.
