Moraine Lake (and the Valley of the 10 Peaks
Description
Moraine Lake (and the Valley of the 10 Peaks)
Moraine Lake is a stunning turquoise lake, cradled by the Valley of the Ten Peaks, located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.
Moraine Lake is snow and glacially fed. It reflects a distinctive shade of azure blue. The unique colour is due to the refraction of the sunlight off the rock sediment deposited in the lake on a continual basis in summer by the surrounding glaciers.
The glass used in the mountains contains Neodymium, a rare earth element. It creates a depth in the design and a dramatic change to the colour of the glass between light intensities.
