Description
Secret Canyon Dreams
Secret Canyon Dreams is based off a photo I took of Marble Canyon in British Columbia. Those crazy blue glacial waters are the result of eons of glacier runoff through limestone. The steep gorge has been carved out of the limestone by Tokumm Creek.
This panel showcases the advanced technique of plating. Plating involves placing one piece of of glass over another in order to create depth, distance, a unique colour, or shading. Notice the plate of herringbone white over the teal colored water in the background? This creates the movement and the roiling of the creek. Take note how the stone on the left is under the water and how there are a couple of additional layers of water plated on top, creating depth.
