Whoo Cooks for You?
Do you hear a Barred Owl in the evening? I can hear one most evenings as he calls to his mate, and she returns his call. It’s hilarious that the first call is always a long, loud “whoooo!” as if he wants to know who’s out there. Last summer, I heard an owlet try his first call in a raspy, scratchy voice. My evening feels too quiet without them.
What’s with the wild Tiger Lilies? They’re also known as Michigan Lilies and they fill the sides of the dirt roads where I live all summer long. They’re incredibly beautiful, grow profusely, and a perfect gift to someone who does so much for you.
